DIY Flower Accessories

What's super cute, inexpensive, easy, and perfect for Spring? These tiny resin flowers. All you have to do is glue them on with E6000 glue to blank earrings, rings, and bobby pins. My flowers were from the awesome crafty daily deal site Pick Your Plum. I bought two bags for just a few dollars each. My neighborhood bead supply store had ring blanks for $5, $0.50 bobby pin blanks, and earring blanks. I've also seen them at craft stores.

How great are these for yourself, small gifts, or craft parties?

Thanks for stopping by! I have been super busy converting a closet into a office/craft space. It's been a ton of organizing. but I've been having fun making it pretty! I can't wait to show you all when I'm done.

Joing here!

Honey Ginger Baked Salmon

Here's a fantastic fish recipe just in time for lent! I get a little intimidated about cooking fish at home for whatever reason, but this recipe turned out perfect for a weeknight dinner! Even my husband perked up and said, "Wow that's good." He usually only comments if something is really bad or good..lol

I love cooking with fresh ginger..it makes you feel like a fancy chef, right?! Plus I used the oranges from our tree :)

Honey Ginger Baked Salmon

adapted from Allrecipes
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 teaspoon minced Garlic
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup orange juice
1/4 cup honey
1 green onion, chopped
1 (1 1/2-pound) Salmon Fillets

Directions:

In a large self-closing plastic bag, combine ginger, garlic, soy sauce, orange juice, honey, and green onion; mix well. Place salmon in bag and seal tightly. Turn bag gently to distribute marinade. Refrigerate for 15 to 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Remove salmon from marinade, shake off excess, and discard remaining marinade. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes per inch of thickness, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

I served ours with brown rice and a simple blue cheese vinaigrette salad..Yum!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cherry Blossom $1 Frame & My Easter Stuff

These little unfinished frames from Michael's can make the cutest gifts! I always keep a few in case I need to make something last minute.

I had some left over cherry blossom scrapbook paper (also from Michael's) left over from my little bunny shelf redo...And then..

I made this little square frame by using Mod Podge to apply the paper. I also painted the edges of the frame. Then I added a quick satin flower.

On Saturday we celebrated my sweet Grammy's 89th birthday and my kids gave her this frame.

I think she really loved it :)

Growing up Grammy always went all out for Easter. There were bunnies EVERYWHERE! It was fun going over there to see her displays. I love that my aunts still decorate her nursing home room for her :) She has always inspired my holidays and here are some of my Easter goodies this year...and I'm so lucky to have been passed down some from Grammy over the years :)

You might remember my Spring satin flower wreath from last year?

It's now on my mantle :)

I hope you are having fun getting ready for Easter and enjoying Spring...I love it!

DIY Shamrock Nails & Hair Clips (St. Patrick's Day)

Here's how we got ready for St. Patrick's day at my house!
I was so inspired by Paper & Ink's version of felt shamrocks found via pinterest I did my own and glued it on a hair clip to make a stem. Go there for a great simple tutorial :) These will look so cute on my little girl! I love when you are inspired and already have the supplies needed!

Of course I had to practice my nail dotting skills to make some shamrock nails. I have a tool from the nail supply but you could dip a bobby pin in polish, dot three circles and finish the stem with a toothpick.
By the way, that awesome color by essie is called Mint Candy Apple.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! xoxo
